Backend Developer

Our Partner is a leading provider of digital reporting solutions for asset managers. Our platform helps firms unify complex reporting, digitise client communications, and optimise reporting operations to deliver a seamless experience.

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for analysing requirements, designing, developing and building platforms using Node.js services as a back-end technology. Collaborate with the larger technical team, including enterprise architects and other lead developers, to review technical approaches and designs.

Roles And Responsibilities:

• You’re a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through from conception to completion.
• You will "own" features/tasks and are responsible for working with the team in scoping development and appropriate testing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend and product teams to translate user needs into technical solutions, ensuring a cohesive and smooth user experience.
• Create documentation for future reference and support using Confluence.
• Apply technical expertise to challenging development problems. 

Key Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience building enterprise-grade applications using Node.js. 
• Experience with frontend development using JavaScript is a major plus.
• Should have experience building back-end API's using Node.js and Express.js.
• Experience with relational databases is mandatory, preferably using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with cloud is a plus, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency in microservices is a plus.

Special Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Functional knowledge in the Finance domain will be an added advantage.
• Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
• Ability to work and communicate clearly and efficiently with team members, with a strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving benchmarks.
