We are recruiting for the role of Legal Counsel within our high performing and ambitious commercial team at The Scalers. What you will do

• You will lead all aspects of commercial contracting, from drafting contract terms, providing legal advice on contract redlines, to participating in partner-facing communications, to helping negotiate and close deals in a highly visible role.
• You will review and respond to other legal and commercial agreements and requests such as NDAs, RFPs and others as applicable.
• You will own the collection and routing of contracts and approvals through our contracting and DocuSign process.
• You will provide legal advice, from time to time, to other internal support functions such as real estate and facilities, procurement, finance, HR, and IT, knowledge and marketing and the opportunity to be the legal lead on firm-wide projects.
• You will continually look for areas to improve the our partner’s experience in the contracting process and improve sales process efficiencies.

What You'll Bring

• Be a qualified lawyer, licensed to practise law and provide legal advice in India.
• 5+ years in commercial contract drafting and negotiating experience, ideally in an international environment within the technology industry.
• Ability to quickly identify and summarise key issues, risks and impact of risks for stakeholders
• Working knowledge of commercial regulatory matters, for example international data protection/privacy and corporate compliance.
• Data protection experience would also be beneficial
• Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and negotiation skills, along with a good sense of humour
• Attitude that no project is too big or too small
• Experience creating and scaling processes and policies for a rapidly growing company
