Node.js Developer

FinChatBot is the South African leader and expert in developing Conversational AI Solutions for the Financial Services Industry. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa, we help digitalize, guide, and continually optimize important customer interactions including Customer Acquisition, Customer Care, and Debt Collection.

We are setting up operations in Bangalore, seeking highly-skilled, professional and committed people who understand the importance of our service to customers and deliver tailor-made solutions as an extension of the brand’s personality.

As a Node.js Developer, you will be responsible for the development of the core product to meet performance, security, and functional requirements at FinChatBot. You will be expected to deliver quality software through the implementation of standards, great development skills, quality control, and efficient management of resources. 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible across all stages and iterations of software development
• Participate in work in with the for solution designs and related code
• Design, develop, verify, test, document, amend and refactor complex programs/scripts
• Apply technical expertise to challenging development problems

Skills and Competencies

• Experience building enterprise-grade applications using Node.js and expertise in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks
• Extensive experience in developing secure REST APIs and Node.js modules
• Good experience in working with relational database design and development preferably  in MySQL
• Experience working with Chatbots or NLP is an added advantage
• Good to have exposure to design patterns and principles, security concepts, continuous integration and unit testing.
• Experience working with PHP, Cake PHP/Laravel is an added advantage
• Good to have knowledge of Python, Go Language and other AI technology. 

Special Requirements for the Role

• 3+ years of experience in software development.
• Should have good decision-making skills and passionate about learning new technologies
• Ability to work and communicate clearly and efficiently with team members, with a strong command of English both written and spoken.
• Mandatory experience working in an Agile environment (SCRUM certification is a major plus)
