The Web Quality Automation Engineer II is responsible for developing tools and automated scripts that can be used for manual and automatic regression testing of web services and applications. Web Quality Automation Engineer II will have solid coding and testing skills, can automate tests, and can expand an existing test project and framework to add new support for tests. The tests should thoroughly verify the functionality, performance, and stability of web services and applications to ensure they meet the expectations of the business and the stakeholders. You will work with other QA team members, the web development team, console software teams, DQA, and stakeholders to understand and document the requirements and business needs of the applications being developed. This is a non-supervisory position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct manual testing when required and build solid, reliable automated test scripts that are as dependable as production code.
- Develop, document, and maintain automated regression test suites using JavaScript frameworks, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Design and execute API automation tests and participate in performance testing using tools like JMeter to validate backend services and overall system performance.
- Identify test requirements from functional specifications, map test case requirements, and design comprehensive test coverage plans.
- Isolate, replicate, and report software defects, and verify defect fixes to ensure consistent product quality.
- Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of deliverables and provide inputs during test plan/case reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, maintainable test code.
- Collaborate closely with developers, stakeholders, and other QA team members to understand application features and ensure proper test coverage.
- Support the continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and help disseminate automation knowledge and practices across the QA and development teams.
- Demonstrate a strong advocacy for product quality and work cross-functionally with global development and hardware/software validation teams to enhance the customer experience.
- Take ownership of personal professional development with a focus on automation engineering, while also mentoring and supporting the skill growth of team members.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on QA experience, including test automation and regression testing
- 2+ years of experience with JavaScript testing framework - Playwright is mandatory.
- 1+ years of API testing using Postman and tools like Karate or Rest Assured
- Proficient with Git/Bitbucket and familiar with Agile testing processes
- Solid understanding of web applications, frontend/backend interactions, and REST APIs
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and writing automated test scripts
- Working knowledge of MongoDB is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
- Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure the ability to write test plans and test cases and to communicate bugs to developers and other stakeholders.

- Solid Automated testing experience in BDD for building Automated frameworks
- The ability to build automation frameworks from scratch and be confident in managing all aspects of the framework
- Ability to incrementally deliver applications as part of an Agile web development team
