Senior Full Stack Developer

As a Senior FullStack Developer you will mentor the junior members of the team, contribute to internal projects and ensure that all portals and systems are optimised for the business. As part of our team, you will evangelise Splyt’s mission, culture, and values whilst being technically hands-on in working towards our vision. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for building and maintaining React frontend applications and contributing to our Node.js/Typescript APIs and microservices.
• Involved in designing, building and testing new functionality for internal projects and portals.
• Work collaboratively with internal QA, product, finance, other tech teams and support in order to ensure best technology practices for the various departments.
• Maintain maximum availability of global services and provide architecture expertise.
• Work with the core team with influence on design, architecture, development and business decisions.
• Become an integral part of our growing start-up by contributing on a technical and personal level.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of product development using Node.js, TypeScript & React.js.
• Strong knowledge of using React for front end development (other Javascript frameworks will be considered).  
• Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs to fulfil business requirements and allow for data exposure.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience in working with any one of the NoSQL Databases – MongoDB.
• Knowledge of having testing experience will be considered a plus. 
• Strong understanding of functional programming as well as object-oriented programming.
• Good knowledge of modern software design patterns/anti-patterns. 
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes is considered as an advantage.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

• Should be proactive and outspoken when it comes to discussion and decisions regarding project planning and best practices. 
• Current and continuous interest in new tools, technologies and methodologies.
• Experience in building scalable and performant cloud-based solutions is desirable. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree
