As an established global fashion retailer, setting up operations in Bangalore, we are seeking creative and proactive engineers to help us define the future of our technology. 

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and working on complex multipart systems and break them down into simple components for others. You can effectively phase tasks to reduce risk and pre-empt service and upgrade interdependencies to minimise disruption. You can triage and diagnose the most complex of operational problems.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyse and plan improvements to Our Partner’s applications, including producing technical designs, estimating effort, test planning, and deployment sequencing.
• Document products, services, and processes to a level appreciated by another engineer in a similar role who may not have detailed knowledge of the product or service.
• Apply testing strategies to ensure that Our Partner’s applications functionally and non-functionally meet customer expectations.
• Share technical advice and attend meetings to provide a technical perspective and provide reports and/or documentation.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years overall experience in front-end technologies generally (i.e. Javascript).
• A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in NodeJS, Typescript, and AWS (S3, Lambda, etc)
• Should have experience in NoSQL Databases (preferably DynamoDB)
• Should have experience in queues (preferably AWS SQS FIFO and Standard queues)
• Should have a working knowledge of Bitbucket and JIRA
• Should have experience in integration patterns, such as RESTFul API consumption & development

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

• Knowledge of web-related technologies and protocols
• Knowledge of common web application security vulnerabilities, such as those in OWASP top 10.
• Knowledge of high-availability and distributed systems concepts
• Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements
• Should have good judgment and decision making skills; responsible and motivated; passionate about learning new things.
