Team Lead

Our Partner is the world’s leading platform for integrated safety & security management. Our software supports a vast range of use cases including evacuations of major cities, counter-terrorism, national security, responses to floods, and corporate continuity/enterprise resilience. 

Manage any incident, big or small which is an integrated platform for crisis & emergency management, work safety, business continuity, & operational security.

As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for conceptualising and working on complex multipart systems and breaking them down into simple components. You should effectively phase tasks to reduce risk and pre-empt service and upgrade interdependencies to minimise disruption. Aside from the technical skills, you should also be able to manage a team of developers. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyse and plan improvements to Our Partner’s products and services, including producing technical designs, estimating effort, test planning, and deployment sequencing.
• Implement and ship improvements to Our Partner’s products and services, complying with Our Partner’s development standards, procedures, requirements, and timelines for each task.
• Apply testing strategies to ensure that Our Partner’s products and services functionally and non-functionally meet customer expectations.
• Provide technical advice to the CTO, Engineering Management, other areas of the business, and to customers as needed; including attending meetings to provide a technical perspective or providing reports and/or documentation.
• Assist other teams with their duties when necessary.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Typescript, Angular, NodeJS
• 7+ years in front-end technologies generally (i.e. Javascript).
• Should have experience in NoSQL Databases (preferably DynamoDB)
• Should have experience in queues (preferably AWS SQS FIFO and Standard queues)
• Working knowledge of building AWS Lambda functions 
• Should have a working knowledge of Bitbucket and JIRA
• Should have experience in integration patterns, such as RESTFul API consumption and development

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

• Knowledge of web-related technologies and protocols
• Knowledge of common web application security vulnerabilities, such as those in the OWASP top 10.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies and can articulate a point of view on technologies
• Knowledge of high-availability and distributed systems concepts
• Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements
• Should have good judgement and decision making skills; responsible and motivated; passionate about learning new things.
