Technical Business Analyst

Irish operations

Established in Dublin in 1997, Our Partner has a Fund/Asset Management Company and a Life Insurance Company, with each focused on the research, development, and discovery of innovative investment products and services, which it then delivers to its European retail client base through UCITS and Non-UCITS mutual funds as well as unit-linked life insurance products. These products are distributed primarily through the Group’s Banking entities and their Family Banker sales networks—the Irish Operations of over 140 employees. About the role:

We seek a Technical Business Analyst with 5+ years’ experience to work within the IT team, analysing, defining and documenting business requirements for data and analytics projects and change initiatives that support and contribute to the company’s growth. This is a terrific opportunity for applicants to gain exposure working in an agile analytics team using the latest cloud technologies as part of an innovative asset management and investment organisation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct practical workshops to understand detailed business requirements from end-users and stakeholders working in Investments, Risk, Product, Finance and Operations business teams.
• Analyse current business processes and data flows to identify inefficiencies or gaps and how these could be overcome with available technologies.
• Write and maintain requirements in standard documentation templates, including business requirement documents and requirement analysis spreadsheets.
• Ensure a shared understanding and quality of deliverables with business requirements through consultation, review and sign-off with SMEs.
• Translate business requirements into data requirements and collaborate with engineering and data analysts to identify where requirements can be met with available data or if new data needs to be acquired.
• Support engineering and data analytics teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions. Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are accurately interpreted.
• Support production of test plans, test conditions, and test scripts, and participate in running coordinated system tests and user acceptance testing.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• 5+ years’ experience in a Business Analyst role as part of a transformation project or as a member of an IT solution delivery team.
• 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services but not necessarily in Funds, Asset Management and/or Life Insurance.
• End-users' experience using SQL, relational databases, and PowerBI is an added advantage. 
• Good knowledge of business analysis and project management processes and methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).
• Excellent communication skills and hands-on Stakeholder Management experience.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 
• Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and be highly motivated.
• Analytical mindset, capable of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
