Web Engineer II

Our Partner (JHT), is one of the largest fitness equipment manufacturers in the world. The company manufactures a wide assortment of fitness equipment for both commercial and residential use, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, exercise bikes and strength training equipment. 

Our Partner, headquarters is based in Taiwan, with global product development, marketing and engineering based in Cottage Grove, Wis.

The Web Engineer is responsible for the design and development of a wide range of tools and web applications that comply with company policies and procedures. Duties include working with cross-functional teams and managers to develop applications specified by business and functional requirements. The Web Engineer will work to identify areas of improvement in the entire product life cycle of existing and new products.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop web sites and applications using modern web development stacks
• Implement scalable applications that meet business requirements and can be distributed globally
• Participate in the technical design of new applications
• Be a self-managing, full participant in cross-functional agile teams: define tasks and assignments and complete them by committed dates and timelines and help teammates do the same

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• Expertise in Core AngularJS development and have strong experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS at best to make your code tidy and reusable.
• Experience in React.JS, Express.js, Node.js and working knowledge in Vue.js
• Should have experience in NoSQL Databases (MongoDB &Amazon Dynamo DB)
• Working knowledge of Amazon Web Service cloud computing platform
• Should have a working knowledge of Git (Bitbucket preferred)
• Should have experience in RESTFul API Consumption and Development
• You should have a strong product vision, to such an extent that you will be able to turn one line of requirements into a fully-fledged feature.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

• Should have 4+ years of experience in web application and platform development.
• Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure understanding of requirements
• Strong software engineering and general problem-solving skills
• Should have good judgement and decision-making skills; responsible and motivated; passionate about learning new things.
• Work within a successful, dynamic, small and growing team where personal development is highly valued
• Exposure to/working knowledge of the Scrum Methodology.
